Nepal to Taiwan
Taiwan is easy, until there is meat in the box.
Clothes, tea, documents and crafts travel to Taipei and Taichung without fuss. Meat is the one thing that can cost the receiver a large fine.
Taiwan guards hard against African swine fever. Pork products from abroad are refused, and the fines fall on the receiver. Even a sealed packet of sausage counts.
What you can send
- Dry, packed food: Vegetarian snacks, tea and spices in shop packets. Check labels for meat or lard.
- Clothes and shoes: Clothes and shoes are straightforward.
- Handicrafts and pashmina: Thangka, pashmina and metal crafts are popular gifts in Taiwan.
- Documents: Certificates and letters, flat and dry.
What not to send
- Meat of any kind: No meat, especially pork. Check snack labels too: some noodles and biscuits carry meat or pork fat.
- Fresh fruit and plants: Stopped by plant quarantine.
- Batteries, gas and anything flammable: Power banks, loose lithium batteries, lighters, matches, perfume in large amounts and aerosol cans cannot fly in cargo.
What the receiver needs

- Floor, number, lane and road
- Taiwan mobile (09XX)
