Nepal to Hong Kong
Hong Kong: yes, the sukuti can come too.
The Nepali community in Hong Kong has been here for generations. We send food from home, clothes and documents, with dried meat on its own per-kg rate.
Hong Kong is a free port, so most personal goods go in without duty. That makes it one of the simplest routes we run.
The exceptions are alcohol and tobacco, which Hong Kong does tax and control. Leave those out.
What you can send
- Sukuti and dried meat: Sukuti and dried meat go on this route with an extra charge per kg of meat. Vacuum-pack it or double-bag it.
- Dry, packed food: Gundruk, masala, dalmoth and tea. Keep the shop packets sealed.
- Clothes and shoes: Festival clothes before Dashain are our busiest Hong Kong parcels.
- Documents: Certificates and family papers, flat in a plastic sleeve.
What not to send
- Alcohol and cigarettes: Hong Kong taxes and controls them. Raksi and cigarettes should not go in the box.
- Batteries, gas and anything flammable: Power banks, loose lithium batteries, lighters, matches, perfume in large amounts and aerosol cans cannot fly in cargo.
- Cash, gold and copied brands: No cash, gold, silver or jewellery of value, and no fake branded goods. Customs seize them and the parcel stops.
What the receiver needs
Hong Kong has no postcodes. The building, floor and flat number do the job instead.
- Full name
- Flat, floor and block, then building name
- Street and district (e.g. Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon)
- Hong Kong mobile number (8 digits)
Write the floor as "12/F". Couriers in Hong Kong read that instantly.
